HowToDo Question : How to insulate a slab for a porch ?
Posted: 04 Dec 2010 5:06
I want to ask a 4-season porch to enlarge the ground floor of my house on my terrace of 21m2, which is currently a simple slab concrete. I hope in the future pose a terrace floor of the verandah to catch up to my house tile! My question is simple, can I ask the joists lengthwise and lay insulation between the joists, or do I RECOULES concrete after having put an insulator through the entire slab ?? Thanks in advance for your response, Syrilou

would be best to put an insulator and then pour a slab, now everything depends on your courage and your budget !

"I hope in the future pose a terrace floor of the veranda." Why in this case, wanting to pour a new slab ? You can actually put the joists on the existing slab and isolate them. Then, place the plates of chipboard (for example) on which you ask the floor! Frmu, I'm sorry to contradict, but I can not be understood something! It happens sometimes !

our visitor had to ask what was the best.. so I told him. he wants to put the insulation between joists her, inevitably, its isolation will made of solid bridges and thermal insulation is in the open air, will fall apart very quickly. from what I understand its floor veranda style is grating

Firstly thank you for your help, I bring the small details. Parquet flooring is the outdoor terrace imputréssible Treaty and the insulation will surely be the Excelsior see the glass wool! Question: why the insulation will degrade faster in the open air? (Yet it is the way to do this in the attic, right? )
